Do You See What I See? – Selections from the Paul R. Jones Collection of American Art

The new exhibit in the Paul R. Jones Museum, Do You See What I See?, draws from work by artists in the Paul R. Jones Collection of American Art. Dominated by portraits and figures, many works stare back at the viewer, encouraging a dialogue about personal identity and how we express it through ourselves and through society at large. Do You See What I See? is also a reflection on how we each see the world according to our own history and lived experiences. How are we different — and how are we similar?
Works include two recent acquisitions: a print by Radcliffe Bailey and a painting by William Paul Thomas. Other artists in the show include: Kiki Smith, Michael Ellison, Karekin Geokjian, James Van Der Zee,Dale Rayburn, William Crite, Clarissa Thompson Sligh, Allan L. Edmunds, John Wilson, Anita Philyaw, Ming Smith, Michael B. Platt, William J. Anderson, Fahamu Pecou, Jessica Scott Felder, Doughba H. Caranda-Martin, and Sheila Turner.
