The Paul R. Jones Museum is pleased to present Alabama photographer Jerry Siegel as this year’s Paul R. Jones Speaker. Siegel’s lecture will take place at the museum on Thursday, September 17th at 4 pm along with a light reception. The lecture is free and open to the public.
Jerry Siegel was born and raised in Selma, AL, and graduated from the Art Institute of Atlanta. A selection of his portraits was recently selected for the permanent collection of the National Portrait Gallery, Smithsonian Museums. His first monograph, Facing South: Portraits of Southern Artists was published by the University of Alabama Press. This body of work has also been exhibited across the southeast. Siegel’s work is also featured in the permanent collections of the Do Good Fund, the High Museum of Art, the Georgia Museum of Art, the Birmingham Museum of Art, and more.
